What is the Disc-Lock Lock Nut?

Fastener performance can be negatively affected by many factors, including vibration, shock loads, joint movement, and a variety of forces. To ensure the integrity of the fastener in challenging applications and environments, locking nuts are used to manage these effects through specially engineered characteristics that resist loosening.

The Disc-Lock Lock Nut is a double hex, free spinning, vibration-proof lock nut that delivers maximum security and maintains operating effectiveness. When subjected to vibration and shock, the interlocking cams of the Disc-Lock Lock Nut attempt to rise against each other and a wedging effect takes place to lock the assembly.

Available in a range of sizes from 10mm to 16mm, the Disc-Lock Lock Nut is widely used by automotive manufacturers, the construction industry, heavy equipment manufacturers, mining, quarrying and railway industries.
